Down with Divine: Waking up
Waking up is hard to do. I'm going to lay here for a minute. Fuck, my eye hurts even worse now.
"Looks like you deserved that one, Mr. Divine." Mr. Bronski said with a bright gleam in his eyes. "Now, we are going to see the principal to talk about the fight you caused." This was not going to go my way at all. With a teacher saying it was my fault was bad news. They would never believe me, especially not by the principal, so I guess it doesn't matter.
Almost, almost. Guess there was no way I could have made it a whole week without having my mom called in. Mr. Bronski helped me up and began perp walking me to the office. He set me firmly down in one of the uncomfortable student chairs. Much to my ever-loving joy. My eye wouldn't stop its piercing throb. Brad was already talking to the principal.
"Alright, Brad. You are suspended for two days. Here is a note to explain why for your parents. If they have any questions. Please have them call me." Principal Detrick looked sad.
"Sorry, this happened to you. We're just glad he did not hurt you. You can still play next week. You can go now." He was their star, of course, he would get off easy. I didn't understand the look on Brad's face. Confusion, unhappiness, giddiness I really couldn't tell. Maybe, I wasn't clicking on all cylinders yet. Wait, how long was I out for?
"Mr. Divine, your mom will be here shortly. Why did you drag her away from her work, again?" asked Mr. Bronski. "Haven't you disappointed her enough."
Brad shuffled his way to the front of the office. Near me and this asshole. Mr. Bronski, not Brad. He had a deep crush on my mom and was trying to father me. It all came out wrong since he didn't like me in the slightest. Mom was either oblivious or very good at ignoring unwanted passes. I hoped it was the latter.
