We can't underrate the role emotional intelligence plays in our relationships and communication with others. Emotional intelligence doesn't only make communication to be understood, but also strengthens our relationship with others. Individuals that are highly emotionally intelligent, tend to communicate clearly, they are good listeners, and think critically before giving a response. The application of emotional intelligence in our daily life will help build family bonds , friendships, work places, etc.
During conflict/misunderstanding, an emotionally intelligent person knows how to control the situation, know when and how to communicate, understand other opinions and create peace effortlessly. One way to realize how emotionally intelligent a person is , is how they communicate during conflict and handle conflicts amongst themselves and others. This is very impactful to relationships with different people.
What is communication and relationships without empathy? Empathy is very essential in every relationship we find ourselves.
Emotionally intelligent people communicate with the right and polite words to make other people comfortable and remain at peace, even in chaos., Not because they are people pleasers, but because they want to promote peace and empathy. An emotionally intelligent person doesn't only prioritize themselves and their feelings, but also considers how other people feel about a situation. They consider the feelings of other person's. An emotionally intelligent person doesn't only have empathy for themselves, but empathy for the people around them. They create a kind and supportive environment for all and not just themselves.
Emotional intelligence helps in creating great communication skills amongst humans, it helps in creating reflections amongst others before they react, which can breed a healthy relationship with people.
Self awareness is a conscious understanding of your emotions as a person. The moment you realize how to control your emotions, it makes you self aware and keeps your emotions in check. A very important foundation to being emotionally intelligent is being self-aware. It controls how your emotions are expressed. As a person, it's very important to be self aware of your emotions, working to understand how it works and navigating how to communicate with others regardless of how you feel towards them, without acting irrational. Being self aware of your reaction to situations helps control trigger, create control for actions that could lead to future regrets. Being an emotionally strong person, helps in building good mental health and that's why it's important to build self-awareness regarding your emotions and control how you react positively to situations that trigger bad reactions.
