A Crochet Purse | My First Val Handmade Work For My Little Sister
It is already day 7 since I start my crochet journey and it has been a great and stressful ride so far, first was the creative mindset, getting to know what most of my crochet tools is been use for and also familiarizing myself with different tutorial videos so as to make my ground solid in this new found skills. So far so good, I have understand the single crochet pattern even though it do look funny from the start but still yet to figure out how to count my stitches properly since I do miss some, Big thanks to my teacher for guiding me.
2days ago she told me about the valentine needlework project and ask me to participate in it, I had to think about it thought because I thought I'm not that good enough to make something, moreover I'm still trying to figure out the kind of pattern we have, I was trying to make a bernie so I just had to drop it since there is deadline and doing a bernie will take weeks since I'm still learning the process so I had to put it on pending and decided to make a purse for my little sister, reason because girls love something they can easily carry about, in a portable way.
What I used
Crocheting hook(5.0mm)
white yarn
A pair of scissors
Yarn needle.
First I made 50 chains, somehow I'm suppose to measure it but I forgot I had a measuring tape and was trying to pick up a guage measuring rule😅, i dropped it and just focus on the chain, I use the single crochet I learnt to make this purse and instead of doing it in a straight form, I had to do it in a round format, so I was following the same method till it start forming and look like a canoe at first, so I continued, till it gave a purse like shape and I also miscount my stitches ( beginner mistake) and i think i will find way to overcome such mistake later on.
At first i did this, while trying to make the cap on it, to be honest I was already tired because I couldn't do other things, I only focus on what I was crocheting and it took a lot of time, the cap wasn't capping because I missed lot of stitches so it looked somehow, I even thought I was already creating some amoeba-like shape at the end I loose it just to create the handle instead and more over my yarn is almost finished and I don't know how to pair two yarn together yet because I have deep blue color. This is how the finally part look like below
With this first attempt, I'm actually planning on making bigger ones when I get more yarn and also when I figure out more after practicing. My sister suppose to hold it for me though but I was fast asleep when she left for work.
