Welcome to the Golem Overlord Module Guide!

The purpose of this series of guides is to introduce you to the features and mechanics of modules and crafting in Golem Overlord. This is the seventh post of the series and will focus on crafting.

Crafting Recap

In the previous crafting posts, I showed use cases for Void Stones, Smelter's Trinity, Transmutative Orbs, and adding quality. I was turned a blue Superior Amplifier (precious) with two stats into a yellow Omega Amplifier (invaluable) with four stats using void stones and the Smelter's Trinity.

Omega Amplifier Increasing Quality from -3 to +5

In this portion of the guide, I'm going to upgrade an Omega Amplifier from quality -3 to +5 and demonstrate how big, medium, and small stats and ranges are increased at each step.

The module did not have a big (red) stat when I started, but I added one with a Smelter's Trinity Forge Sigil, shortly after this. You can see the steps and screenshots in the Crafting Part 2 Guide.

What is Quality?

Quality is a multiplier to all stats on the module. As you will see later, quality multiplies each stat as well as the possible range of stats.

Note to remember: Upgrading from quality -1 to 0 is always an upgrade to stats.

Veteran players recommend that you upgrade your equipped module to at least 0 quality in the forge. Doing so will always increase the module stats by 1.

Quality Upgrade Costs

Higher rarity modules have higher upgrade costs. Here is a chart of the costs I was able to find by experimenting with different rarity amplifiers in the Pyrite Forge.

The chart represents the cost to increase to the next level. For example, at quality 4 it costs 1741.5 pyrite for a 100% chance to increase to quality 5.

Quality Rounding

Modules will floor, round, or ceil the stats based on the quality level.

  • Below 0 quality -> it will floor
  • 0-4 quality -> it rounds
  • 5 quality -> it ceils

Examples

  • Floor = 7.7 becomes 7
  • Round = 7.5 becomes 8
  • Round = 7.2 becomes 7
  • Ceil = 7.2 becomes 8

How to Add Quality

Quality is added to a module from the Pyrite Forge.

After you chose a module, you can decide how much pyrite you want to burn to increase the quality. If you want to take a risk you can burn less pyrite for a lower percentage chance of increasing quality. In the example below, I can burn 15 pyrite for a 50% chance of increasing quality. At 30 pyrite it gives a 100% chance of increasing quality.

Increasing Omega Amplifier Quality -3 to -2

These are the starting stats and possible range of stats for the Omega Amplifier.

  • 14 [8-17]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP
  • +4 [2-4]% cheaper unlocking relics on Claim
  • +4 [4-6]% SHARD Steal

I will burn 13.5 pyrite for a 100% chance of increasing quality from -3 to -2.

Results

  • Possible less rep burn range increased from [8-17]% to [9-18]%
  • Actual rep burn increased from 14% to 15%
  • Possible SHARD steal range increased from [4-6]% to [4-7]%
  • Max possible shard steal increased from 6% to 7%

New Stats

  • 15 [9-18]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP
  • +4 [2-4]% cheaper unlocking relics on Claim
  • +4 [4-7]% SHARD Steal

Increasing Omega Amplifier Quality -2 to -1

Starting Stats

  • 15 [9-18]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP
  • +4 [2-4]% cheaper unlocking relics on Claim
  • +4 [4-7]% SHARD Steal

Burn 40.5 pyrite for a 100% chance of increasing quality from -2 to -1.

Results

  • Possible less rep burn range increased from [9-18]% to [9-19]%
  • Actual rep burn increased from 15% to 16%

New Stats

  • 16 [9-19]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP
  • +4 [2-4]% cheaper unlocking relics on Claim
  • +4 [4-7]% SHARD Steal

Increasing Omega Amplifier Quality -1 to +0

Starting Stats

  • 16 [9-19]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP
  • +4 [2-4]% cheaper unlocking relics on Claim
  • +4 [4-7]% SHARD Steal

Burn 94.5 pyrite for a 100% chance of increasing quality from -1 to +0.

Results

You can see that increasing from quality -1 to +0 is the biggest improvement so far. This upgrade increased every possible stat and range of stats.

  • Possible less rep burn range increased from [9-19]% to [10-20]%
  • Actual rep burn stat increased from 16% to 17%
  • Possible cheaper unlocking relics on Claim range increased from [2-4]% to [3-5]%
  • Cheaper unlocking relics on Claim increased from 4% to 5%
  • Possible SHARD steal range increased from [4-7]% to [5-8]%
  • SHARD Steal increased from 4% to 5%

New Stats

  • 17 [10-20]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP
  • +5 [3-5]% cheaper unlocking relics on Claim
  • +5 [5-8]% SHARD Steal

Increasing Omega Amplifier Quality +0 to +1

Starting Stats

  • 17 [10-20]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP
  • +5 [3-5]% cheaper unlocking relics on Claim
  • +5 [5-8]% SHARD Steal

Burn 202.5 pyrite for a 100% chance of increasing quality from +0 to +1.

  • 18 [11-21]% Less Rep Burn, but gain full XP

Increasing Omega Amplifier Quality +1 to +2

After I upgraded to quality +1, I used a Smelter's Trinity (Enigma) and added a big stat to the module. You can read the details and instructions for this in the Crafting Part 2 Guide.

Total Cost and Upgrade Comparison Chart

The total pyrite cost to upgrade the Omega Amplifier from -3 to +5 was 4,657.50 pyrite at 100% chance of upgrade with each step.
