Hello SPL family

Another week, another set of Battle Mage secrets. This week's highlighted ruleset is Five Alive. In this ruleset, You can only use 5 units in the battle. For me, this ruleset is a common ruleset where you can only use five units when playing alone. However, when combined with another ruleset, it becomes a challenge because you're limited to using only a few units. In the battle I joined, I shared Five Alive in the ruleset because it was accompanied by another ruleset, creating a challenge of which monster to use in the fight. The battle took place in the Scarred Hand Silver Cup where the only card allowed was the rebellion edition. I was challenged here because my rebellion summoners were only at the bronze level. Nonetheless, I managed to still make it to the top 27 and received a 36 SPS reward. Let's see how I won this battle despite my summoner being only at bronze level.

MY BATTLE

The battle condition is 39 mana caps The elements that you can not use are fire, water, death, and, dragon. The rulesets are Five Alive and Heavy Hitters.

TEAM COMPOSITION

For this battle, I chose Zeddica as my summoner, a dual-element summoner who can use death and water units. I chose her so I could utilize water and death units in the fight. For the 1st position, I selected Chaos Animator, a no-attack monster with a void ability at level 3. Void provides protection against magic attackers. For the 2nd position, I chose Daarg Deadblast, a magic attacker with weapons training and swiftness abilities at level 1. Daarg Deadblast's weapons training grants magic attack ability similar to Chaos Animator and Ulundin Overseer. Swiftness, on the other hand, provides +1 speed to all units while he's alive in battle. For the 3rd position, I chose Ulundin Overseer, a no-attack monster with Flank ability. Ulundin Overseer's ability cannot be used because the next monster after him is a magic attacker. I included him in the lineup because he has high health. For the 4th position, I chose Anasth Soothsayer, a magic attacker with cleanse and tank heal abilities. Anasth Soothsayer will heal and cleanse the 1st position to prevent it from dying too quickly. Lastly, I chose Sultry Barmaid, a ranged attacker with ambush and stun abilities. Through ambush, she attacks first in battle before it begins. Her stun ability helps trigger the knock out ability and possibly deal double damage while the opponent is stunned.

KEYNOTES

Because of weapons training, Chaos Animator and Ulundin Overseer, who previously had no attack ability, will now have a magic attack ability equivalent to the magic attack damage of Daarg Deadblast.

Because of Sultry Barmaid's stun, it triggered the knockout on the opponent, so while the opponent is stunned, they will receive double damage from each of my attacks.

BATTLE HIGHLIGHTS

In round 1, Sultry Barmaid stunned Mantaroth. Due to the knockout ability from the ruleset, the next attack will double while Mantaroth is still stunned. Because of this, he died immediately in round 1.

Similar to what happened to Mantaroth, in round 4, Sultry Barmaid stunned Rage, so the next attack on Rage would double while he was still stunned. Because of this, Rage died in round 4.

In round 5, because the damage from my magic attackers was sufficient to kill the remaining 2 units of the opponent, the battle ended here.

My plan was successful because I used a unit with stun ability. Because one of the rulesets involved heavy hitters where all units would acquire knockout ability.
Even though my opponent had large health pools, my attacks still doubled due to triggering the knockout while the opponent was stunned.
Chaos Animator's void ability also provided significant help because it reduced Rage's magic attack.
Timing was also crucial in stunning Mantaroth because if he hadn't been stunned and was killed in round 1, my units could have been depleted as Mantaroth carries significant damage.
