INTRODUCTORY POST

My name is Sholanke Omotoyosi , I am a Visual artist currently in an undergraduate program in the University of Lagos. I create painting to capture emotion, Aside just emotion of happiness I generally strive to stir of various emotion as people see my painting and thereby relate to it . I believe emotions , feelings and experiences related to it are what makes us humans .

I really want this platform to help artist connect more than ever through our work and platform communities. I'll draw as mush as I can because I really enjoy drawing and also try my best to teach art lovers how to draw or feed their eyes because art really is life.
With that in mind I hope to leave an impression on viewers and leave something in their mind , it could be a question to be answered or a feeling that lingers on. My works are still undergoing evolution, i was mostly focusing on aspect on aesthetics but not I am adding content to the works making for further development.

My works are paintings classified as expressionism with use of figures. The art piece I have exhibited in various projects have also been painting .
The references I use are mostly sourced from day to day activities that I find interesting and captivating or from live sessions .
I have always enjoyed referring to artworks of artist like Edosa Ogiugo, Bolaji Ogunwo , Jason knight and Bryan Taylor . They have been a great inspiration to me and how I see and do art .

The philosophy behind my works is for audience to be left with an impression after viewing an art piece intellectually or emotionally.
I would also be posting progress shots of the paintings done along the way so we can also learn together.
