Fungi Friday

Today I want to talk about an unusual fungi. About a month and a half ago, a friend brought me a small bottle from the supermarket. It turned out to be a new trendy kombucha drink. But was it new? I remembered how as a child there was a jar with the so-called "tea fungi" in our house.

And now, holding a small bottle from the supermarket in my hands, I got the idea of finding a tea fungi. I must say that about seven years ago I already made such an attempt, but then it did not end in success.

This time, having dialled an overgrown "tea fungi" and indicating the place, I immediately found a small company in Bucha, which sold not only the kombucha itself, but also everything necessary. Great!

And in a couple of days I received such a parcel

Of course, I should have read in advance what and how to do it. Fortunately, there was a manual on the package. But there was one moment. Kombuch should have been placed in a three-litre jar, but I didn't have one. Therefore, the first place of residence of my tea mushroom was a large soup bowl 😂

In the soup bowl, the tea mushroom grew quickly and I had to think about how to place it in different contains. Finding a home for him was not a problem - my friend said he would gladly take one.

Fortunately, I remembered the big bottles, which are very beautiful, but have never been used in my household. And now their day has come! I poured the finished drink there to put it in the fridge. I must say that on a hot day it is a great way to quench your thirst.

Later I still found a three-litre jar and now I have two tea fungi growing - one in a soup bowl and one in a jar. In time, I will find something aesthetic for them. Especially since I want to try to make another variety - based on green tea.

By the way, I read about Kombucha and found out that it is not only tasty, but also healthy. It contains B vitamins and many other things. So I recommend it 😉
