500000 people singing the Catalan Anthem

Half of the country on strike today, more than 500K people occupying Barcelona’s Center.

I’m not sure how the media is showing the events outside Spain which is really manipulating the actual information.

I recognize we had a few violent actions but in overall it is actually a peaceful strike. believe what Spanish government tells about us, they don’t understand and don’t want to understand that what Catalans want is to execute our right of Self-determination in the best way possible, peacefully.

The Catalan Anthem, written in the 19th century and talking about the events occurred more than 300 years ago, where Catalans fought against Spain in the so-called “Guerra dels Segadors” or “The Reaper’s War”. On that war against the most powerful king at Europe at that age, Philip IV, Catalan workers and reapers, people from the countryside, fought with their sickles, defending the land.

Today, things doesn’t change so much, still Spain thinks that submission and repression are the only valid tools against the hope of a millenarian country...
