The New 3Speak Frontend Is Now Live!

Hello, everyone!

We're ready to officially open the new 3Speak frontend for everyone to use.

Over the past weeks, more than 40 people from the community have been testing it, with 450+ videos uploaded so far. While many of these were test uploads, a good portion were large, real-world videos, which gave us valuable data and confidence in the new setup. The feedback has been very positive, and we want to thank everyone who took the time to test, report issues, and share their thoughts.

That said, there may be bugs, and that's expected at this stage. Feedback remains a key part of moving this forward.

What you can expect

Login and authentication

• Login using Hive Keychain.

• On mobile:

  • You can use the Hive Keychain internal browser, or
  • Log in via HiveAuth from any browser, confirm the login in Hive Keychain, and then return to the web app on your browser.

• You can switch between accounts directly from the login section.

Faster uploads

• A new upload server that significantly improves upload speed.

---

Publishing improvements

• You can now upload images directly inside the description box.
• A video scheduler is available. This feature may still have a few bugs, so to use it correctly, please make sure the video finishes uploading before publishing.

New open-source video player

• A new video player is now live and fully open source. Link to the repo.
• Note: Some videos, especially portrait videos, may not play correctly yet.
• Contributions, fixes, and improvements are welcome.

Current known issue with the new video player

Playback on Hive frontends

The new 3Speak frontend introduces a new video player, which requires Hive frontends to make small code changes to support it.

• @Ecency has already integrated the new player, and videos are fully playable there.
• The team at @PeakD has been informed and is currently working on the integration.
• Hive.blog: @meno has submitted a merge request to Condenser to address this issue.

Encoding visibility

• After uploading a video, you can check the encoding progress live.
• You can also visit monitor.3speak.tv to see the real-time encoding status of all videos across the platform. Link to the repo.

Updated home feeds

The home page now includes new and improved feeds:

• Recommended videos (Home Feed)
• New videos
• Trending videos
• First uploads

Access to legacy studio and legacy frontends

From the login section, click on "Login with email " to go to the legacy.3speak.tv. This link will take you to the old or legacy 3speak frontend.

Last but not least: Dark theme

We've added a dark theme that you can easily switch on and off. It's simple, fast, and designed to be easy on the eyes, especially for longer sessions or low-light environments.
