Decoding Syrup Brands: A Comprehensive International vs. Local Review
By: Chao Coffee and Tea
This syrup review shared some insightful comparisons among popular international brands such as Monin, DaVinci, Torani, Starbucks, and a local brand, Longbeach. Among the top tastes tested - vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut, DaVinci emerged as the winner in the vanilla category. Its balance of sweetness didn't overpower the base drink. Conversely, it was recommended to reduce the amount when using more concentrated syrups like Monin to prevent overpowering the base drink. Starbucks syrups, on the other hand, required a larger amount as they weren't as strong. When it comes to local brands, it was noted that some came close but most didn't match up with the international brands, yet, Longbeach's hazelnut flavor stood out as phenomenal, and had a more affordable price.
In conclusion, it's essential to adjust the quantity of syrup based on its brand and individual strength. Local brands were encouraged to be utilized as per availability and the affordability factor. The video suggests that using a popular brand doesn't necessarily make it the best choice. Instead, it's about getting the balance right to elevate the taste of your drink.
