Looking ahead./ Blick nach vorn.

In my drawing today, I wanted to capture the look of a young woman bending to the whirlpool of powerlessness and patiently looking for hope in the distance.
Many wisdoms have been picked up over the years, but living them and acting freely on them makes them an acquired skill. How often one's thoughts are focused on times past and what one has lost in life, but one's gaze should be on what one has gained in life and what life still has in store for one!

In meiner heutigen Zeichnung wollte ich den Blick einer jungen Frau einfangen, die sich dem Strudel der Machtlosigkeit beugt und geduldig nach Hoffnung in der Ferne Ausschau hält.
Viele Weisheiten hat man im Laufe der Jahre aufgeschnappt, aber sie zu leben und frei nach ihnen zu handeln, macht sie zu einer erworbenen Fähigkeit. Wie oft sind die Gedanken auf vergangene Zeiten gerichtet und auf das, was man im Leben verloren hat, aber der Blick sollte auf das gerichtet sein, was man im Leben gewonnen hat und was das Leben noch für einen bereithält!

Rocky would now say: "It doesn't count how many blows you take, but whether you get up again afterwards and carry on." And even if the population is in chaos, the world will still be standing after all. The role we play in this is determined by the hope and will we carry in our actions.

Rocky würde jetzt sagen: "Es kommt nicht darauf an, wie viele Schläge du einsteckst, sondern ob du danach wieder aufstehst und weitermachst." Und selbst wenn die Bevölkerung im Chaos versinkt, wird die Welt am Ende doch noch stehen. Welche Rolle wir dabei spielen, hängt von der Hoffnung und dem Willen ab, die wir in unserem Handeln tragen.

The drawing was inspired by a feeling of confidence and is meant to look forward. I set it in motion with watercolour pencils and sketched it out with a pencil. The eyes unfortunately didn't turn out as expressive as I had imagined but it could be refined a little to save them. They say "practice makes perfect." So I will keep trying to make it sharper and more expressive with a little more practice.

Die Zeichnung wurde von einem Gefühl der Zuversicht inspiriert und soll den Blick nach vorne richten. Ich habe es mit Aquarellstiften in Bewegung gesetzt und mit einem Bleistift skizziert. Die Augen sind leider nicht so ausdrucksstark geworden, wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte, aber man kann sie noch ein wenig verfeinern. Man sagt ja "Übung macht den Meister". Ich werde also weiter versuchen, es mit ein wenig mehr Übung schärfer und ausdrucksstärker zu machen.

I also like to edit pictures because you never know what will come out. This time I ran it through an AI programme and was amazed at what the programme did with my original drawing. I'm sure you'll recognise which picture the AI designed. Although it turned out very imaginative, I prefer the original and would have liked more similarities to the original.

Ich bearbeite auch gerne Bilder, weil man nie weiß, was dabei herauskommt. Dieses Mal habe ich es durch ein KI-Programm laufen lassen und war erstaunt, was das Programm aus meiner ursprünglichen Zeichnung gemacht hat. Ich bin sicher, ihr erkennt, welches Bild die KI entworfen hat. Obwohl es sehr fantasievoll geworden ist, ziehe ich das Original vor und hätte mir mehr Ähnlichkeiten mit dem Original gewünscht.
