Another compelling use-case for crypto here. What happened to this journalist is wild. He deposited his paycheck at BofA, shortly thereafter his money mysteriously disappeared. Without any notification from his bank, a court, or any government entity, his bank handed the money to the CA Board of Equalization (CA's taxing authority). It gets even better, he didn't earn the money in CA, didn't live in CA, hasn't lived in CA for years. After battling with the state, they eventually refunded his money. But the lesson here is quite disturbing. The power of the state to seize assets without any judicial process is outrageous. But also disturbing is that your money is not as safe as you beleive it is when held in a bank
