After a year of rumours and an expectation on Apple to give us the iPhone 9, it instead followed the arrival of the iPhone XS and XS Max with the more ‘affordable’ iPhone XR.

The two ‘flagship’ devices – that’s the XS and XS Max – have both been shipping since September, and as of Friday October 26, they’ve been joined on shelves by the iPhone XR.

iPhone XR latest news – iPhone XR delays cease in time for release date
Ahead of the iPhone XR’s release date, there was some bad news for those who haven’t already laid claim to Apple’s new handset.

Earlier in October, Apple’s website was listing a shipping time of “1-2 weeks” for its latest device, which means that you might not have seen it in the post any time near its release date.

However, we’re pleased to report that iPhone XR shipping delays now seem to be (more or less) a thing of the past, and as of its October 26 release date, it’s shipping in a more palatable “3-5 business days”.

The earlier delay was likely due to above-average interest in the iPhone XR, with noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently upping his holiday sales forecast for the device from 33-35m to 36-38m.

Plus, as the iPhone XR is the probably the least-hyped of Apple’s 2018 smartphone trio, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be able to purchase one in store if you hit up an Apple Store from Friday October 26 – the latest reports indicate that in-store hype is nowhere near the levels seen around the XS’ launch.
