Freelancing scams and payment issues.
In whatever we do, I believe we all learn something every day, regardless of what it is or where we can do it. I always knew and believed that there was a difference between a normal banking app and an online banking app. These two are sometimes different entities, and they do things separately due to their network and how they run things. I believe any transaction being done on an online banking system is faster and more reliable than a normal bank due to their delivery rate, which is fast.
I feel somehow bad as I write this post because I do not know if it was my fault or the fault of the person who was supposed to credit my account. Likewise, I have a freelance job that requires me to provide a bank app for making transfers of my funds whenever I work. I have been working with these people for some day but have been getting a very small rewards due to the current time we are in, which is a festival period, so I was not bothered about that.
After working as a freelance for some days with them, I was able to at least accumulate a total of $5, which I was happy with because it is not easy to make money in this kind of period. After working and making $5, I was told by the person who is my mentor to try to make a withdrawal yesterday, which I was a bit skeptical about because I haven't withdrawn my money from their company before but decided to give it a try.
When I got to their site, I asked for help on how to make a withdrawal of the money I had worked for, and I was guided on how to do that, which was never hard at all. I was needing a local bank account to withdraw, and in between, there were some online banking apps or sites that were recommended. Due to the fast transaction abilities of the online banking, I decided to choose it as a means of payment while I opened an account with them to get my money paid.
The withdrawal was to take 24 hours to reflect in the banking app, but since I made a withdrawal, I haven't gotten my money into my account yet, and it has now been more than 24 hours. After I made the withdrawal 2 days ago, I was hoping and waiting that they would credit me almost immediately, but they didn't, and I was thinking if they had not scammed me, I could not do anything.
In line with this, I had to contact the person who is my mentor to explain to him what they have done, and I asked him if I could make a complaint to their company, but I was told even if I made a complaint, I wouldn't get a response, not even later. I was very sad and annoyed because I have not been able to get paid for what I have worked for. This is so sad when agencies use people to work and make money, but you are not willing to pay when the time comes.
I kept checking my account to see if I had been credited, and I was the one that did check, but there was nothing there. The most painful part about this transaction is that I have gone to borrow money from some of my friends to pay them back when I get credited, but to no avail. I feel so bothered right now—more like I was swindled—because making payments into an online banking system is not hard and does not take much time at all.
