Finding Ourselves...

Life can be so many things in the journey we make. Sometimes we look at ourselves and think "why can't I just be happy?". Have we taken the time to consider what the word happy actually entails?

Life is never perfect, I know we dream of perfection and the perception of what we see in others often leads us to a reality that is marred by our own irrational self-image.

Over the years I have come to understand that there is beauty in the imperfection of me. I have also come to see that being imperfect, is the most beautiful part of me. My imperfections make me who I am.

I make mistakes, but I learn from each and every one of those mistakes.
I see my faults and realize that if I had none of those imperfections, would I be a different person? I've come to like myself despite all that things I feel are imperfect.

My hope is that those imperfections will keep me humble, kind, loving, compassionate, and empathetic to the plight of others around me.

The ocean has always drawn me. The way the ocean has so many facets and I feel there are times that I can identify with the calm to the turbulent.
