MY HUMBLE HIVE BEGINNING
As I have always said, me being on Hive just seems like yesterday. Very well, it has been quite an intriguing journey, really. And now here is my entry for the My Beginning At Hive challenge posted by @rutablockchain.
The men behind my onboarding were my close friend, @monioluwa and
@starstrings01. My friend - Daniel as I do call him, really took his time to explain on what Hive was about, the modus operandi and the activities therein – the blogging aspect. Immediately, I remember telling him I was not a writing person – though I could write a 2-sentence piece and the next one would be in a couple of weeks. But he kept me rest assured that I could do it, that I would learn on the job and there was nothing to fear. I gave in, at least to give it a try.
So, fast forward to the day I was to register which was the day the second HIVE FUNAAB meeting held. I must confess, I had thought there were not much people who knew about the platform but multitudes came relatively. 😄
That day, I observed how the members,then, co-existed, crack jokes, advised each other and man, I knew I would be here for longer than I thought. I made more friends that day in addition to my coursemates including @heskay
@chosenfingers
@mayorkeys and @Ijohnsen – who was seemingly the freshest apart from
@starstrings01 ...
Many days later, I wrote my introductory post using the template that @monioluwa had sent me. I sent it to him and then told me to come to his place to post it. And that marks the beginning of the journey of Hive blogging for me. After some hours, I think the next day, Daniel told me to log in and check the post, I did and I was like, this number beside the Hive Symbol looks much. I asked whether that was my money? And he answered affirmatively. Wow!
As you may have known, I am someone who on getting to a new place (or platform in this case) would calm down and scout around to learn and see how things were done myself. After my intro post no other post was coming. So, in the meantime I logged into my account everyday to check out peoples’ post, read them, may or not comment etc. I must confess, when I saw a post the first thing I do was to check the number of votes. Quite hilarious, isn't it?
As time went on, the Hive FUNAAB community I belonged to made sure to keep on motivating me and were there to always answer any questions I had. Also, I got to get acquainted with people who I am now friends with and of course I made sure to learn from their Hive culture. My good people ranging from @josediccus
@samostically
@mistural
@deraa etc.
Besides individuals, communities have also impacted my Hive experience. For example, it is the Newbies initiative, which is still on, brought about by the collaboration between the @newbies-hive and
@hive-learners communities that has made my posting of contents improved to almost 7 posts per week. And it also brought more friends to me including
@vickoly
@merit.ahama
@chincoculbert
@royalpeek
@niglys etc. It seems I have tagged too many people already😁.
All well and good, it has been a great experience being among you guys and the entire world of Hive. I’d love to add that I am no more that naïve newbie that came onboard about 5 months ago. So, I believe it's safe to say I am a newbie who has grown knowledgeable about the system and still growing. Even recently, I made my first post on #leofinance, Hurray 😁!!
But there are still tons of things to learn. I am not stopping here for the journey is still far. Anyway we move ... I use this medium to tell @prechidi
@deraaa and
@obaro to share their story.
