The Tiny Oil Leak! (Just Dug Up Bigger Problems For The Long Run!)

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

Small Leak Huge Work!

Now more than often that is the case so I don't even know why I want to bitch about that fact! But I am going to! We techies always do!

People will of-course say that their are ways to work around everything and sure there are but screw that! In our shop we do it properly with proper visual inspections!

So hence the reason for this!

Yeahp! We had to remove an entire transmission to get to that spot! It's faster for me to remove something I have knowledge with than to remove something I have no knowledge with! Like the entire wiper system and shit! Nah screw that!

I can pull this in 45 minutes and properly see what I am doing!

Spot The Leak?

Yeah I can! We thought at first that it was the transmission that leaked a fuckton but it wasn't! It was an oil leak up top somewhere!

Now we know exactly from what direction it comes from! It's worth mentioning that it ended up on the transfer case at the back! That is wild!

So let's tear that off too!

Found It!

Now that is something! I found the oil leak!

Here is the catch! It is going to be a hell of a thing if I "fix" the oil leak and it ends up leaking on that same place again after I fitted the transmission back into the pickup!

What can you do except fit it do the job and hope it doesn't leak!
If it does we rinse and repeat though right!

So the guy that worked on this one didn't exactly seal up this properly!

No actually he didn't seal it up at all!

There is suppose to be some sealant in there yeah! Not a drop of that to be seen anywhere!

So now I have to clean this one out nicely and then we can seal it up and have it as good as it can be!

Now when I fitted this transmission I had a slight struggle to get it fitted, seems this flange gasket was fitted the wrong way around! Now this makes so much more sense!

So I swapped it around because I had it open anyways! Now I am set to get!

A Quick Service For The Worst!

So we don't exactly have the best news for this bloak! I mean he asked for a service afterwards and sure we can do those!

Now here's the catch! A service ain't going to fix what is already buggered up!

Yeahp that is some steel right there!

The filter well this looks like it has been clogged up for sometime now! Not a good thing either! But hey hopefully this can keep it running for some time longer yeah!

Being optimistic and positive is the way to go right!

Deep inside is more metal caught up in the filter linings!

And that right there is why we need to do regular oil changes! That right there!

I really hope this didn't get too much damage and that it might stem from something else! Either way our job is done!
