Perplexity's CEO admitted on a podcast that Comet browser exists to track everything you do online - "that was the key reason to build Comet." They want $2,400/year to harvest your purchase history, travel data, and browsing patterns to build ad profiles. Their terms literally say they can monitor everything, change rules anytime, and keep your data forever. Meanwhile I'm running Qwen on a 5-year-old machine with Brave and Ollama for free. No tracking, no corporate middlemen, just local AI that works.
