Mono Monday Structures
Good Morning i Hope your weekend went well and wishing you a good week ahead
as I tend to do, starting the week with a few Mono shots
Monochrome photography uses variations of a single color or tone (like shades of gray, sepia, or blue) instead of the full spectrum, focusing on light, texture, shape, and mood rather than colorful hues. It strips away color to emphasize timeless qualities, contrast, and emotional depth, making subjects like form, pattern, and atmosphere more prominent, often achieved through filters, lighting, or as I do most often post-processing.
This first one has subtle blue tones, but to some it may appear as straight Black and white

as I have said before there is a plan to replace this bridge, planning started in 2022 and current timeline is as follows
Massachusetts Department of Transport plans to replace the New Bedford-Fairhaven Swing Bridge with a new vertical lift bridge, with construction anticipated to start in 2027, following extensive planning, studies, and public input, with the goal of less disruption than older designs, potentially closing vehicle traffic for only 12-18 months
For those who use the bridge often getting to or from work, 12 to 18 months will be a long time but there are alternative routes that don't add much time to the trip for most.
Next up I am at the end of the harbor walk looking across at the site where they have bene constructing the towers for Wind Turbines.

I mentioned in a recent post this memorial for Prince Henry the Navigator Park and said I didn't have shots of it, well I came across this one

The Prince Henry the Navigator Park in New Bedford, Massachusetts is a maritime memorial on Pope's Island, featuring a granite and bronze statue of the Portuguese prince who sponsored voyages of discovery, honoring the region's strong Portuguese heritage and connection to seafaring exploration, offering harbor views and commemorating the Age of Discovery.
In case you missed it this is the shot I shared the other day, the cross you can see in the statue above, and one morning i caught it with the full moon in the background
