Market Friday Ernestina Morrisey

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, Some may see this as stretching the terms of what is a market, but at times when this ship is docked in the port in New Bedford they offer tours of the boat which one must pay for I believe so I am thinking thats close enough for it to be considered a market LOL

As I mentioned on Wednesday my plans for my walk changed and that happened when I saw this ship the Ernestina Morrisey in the port

the schooner ERNESTINA-MORRISSEY, was built in 1894 at the James and Tarr Shipyard for the Gloucester fishing fleet. Under Captain Bob Bartlett she sailed to within 600 miles of the North Pole, and later brought immigrants to the U.S. under the power of sail. Returned to the US in 1982 as a gift from the newly independent Cape Verdean people, she sailed as an educator until 2005.
She is primarily docked in New Bedford I believe but is currently on her way to Texas for a Tall ships event

It was the first time I have seen it here since I moved here, I understand it was away somewhere going under repairs but is ow back in service.

AIt was docked where the lightship Nantucket had been docked for the few years I have been here, and from what I have heard that is where it will be docked moving forward when it is in port.

As you can see in the next shot there were crew members on board, I spoke to one of them and found it was leaving port shortly and heading to Texas for a big sail ship regatta.

When the ship pulled out from the dock I quickly walked around to an end of one of the piers to catch the ship again from that point

I subsequently raced back to my car and drove to a couple of other points and got some more shots I have yet to edit, hoping to see it raise its sails and sail away, but I was not so lucky to catch that
