Tesla: The Best Selling EV PIckup
Some are getting excited at reports that the Cybertruck was the best selling EV pickup truck. To me, this belongs in the who cares category.
In this video I discuss how segmenting EV versus non is foolish. If becoming the best selling EV pickup is a stepping stone, fine. But the real juice is in the total market and grabbing share there. Tesla did this in the two segments it focuses upon with the 3 and Y. Right now, the Cybertruck is scaling so there is really nothing to tell. Until the annualized run rate is around 200K, it is just ramping.
