In the silence
Lost in a world that isn't mine
the days crumble into the night.
A broken arrow flying sight unseen,
only to land in settled dust.
Unknown to me there are others,
struggling to find the way to the light.
Nail and tooth and tooth and nail,
enveloped and smothered by the void.
Spoken words and written dreams,
torn from seams and mouth stitched close.
Silence prevails and screams her tune,
Another mountain taken only to drown.
Wry the lips and dry the heart,
with nothing left for another start.
Spilled blood on frozen ground,
hitting bottom and falling still.
