New project for sewing pillowcases

Good Monday to all our community !!!
I have noticed that when I remove the top pillowcase from my large cushion to wash it, I have nothing to replace it with. I have to wait for this pillowcase to dry to put it on the sofa cushion.
It is not very convenient, especially in winter. I thought: I have a lot of pieces of fabric, why not sew another pillowcase ?! I took my fabric stock, revised it and selected fabric.

Then I do everything according to the old scheme: first, I measure the size of the fabric I need using a ready-made pillowcase.

I mark the sizes using multi-colored needles. It is very comfortable!

At the top of the pillowcase, where it will be secured with a zipper or buttons, I left more fabric than around the edges. Now you need to cut off the excess fabric.

The next step: sew the side seams and the bottom on the sewing machine, but leave the top open.

When I started sewing, I found myself forgetting where I should have the top of my pillowcase!! I did not mark him in any particular way; all sides were the same for me. Oh oh oh oh 😮😭
I was sure that I would remember this because there was some special detail on the fabric itself, but I forgot which one. I have instant amnesia! 😂
This is a good lesson for me: you can't rely on your memory!
Of course I was mistaken and had to sit the pillowcase a little on the sofa cushion. Now I have to decide: buttons or zipper? I think I will choose lightning, but I haven’t decided for sure yet.
Wish you all a good new week !!!!
