It isn't easy, but we succeed
My Personal Experience....
As a student, you must understand yourself and never compare yourself with anyone.
We all have our capabilities and at the same time we have our weakness.
My experience as a student, I have being working even before I gained admission into higher institution as a fashion designer, but I didn't allow my work to stop me from my academic pursuit.
In my first year in school, i was working but I didn't allow my work engagement to overwhelmed my academic performance, I scheduled my work till after the lectures for the whole day, most times I worked during weekends when I don't go to school, because as at that time I was using my apartment for my work.
During the second year, I really worked hard in school because I have made up my mind that, if I can not be the best student in my department, then I must be one of the best students in the department.
At the end of the second year my CGP was very good, so during my third year in the university I decided to open up a shop across my campus, so that I will not be far from the school, because by that time I already had more equipments which is an industrial sewing machine with the manual one.
Though, it's not easy to be working and at the same time studying most especially with such a course of study Chemistry Education. Most of the time, I skipped classes in order to meet up with customer's request/demand.
During my final year in school, I don't joke with lectures and sometimes, I disappointed my customers by not meeting up with the agreement time to deliver their work but I know how to deal with them. And whenever examinations is approaching, I do skipped going to shop in order to prepare very hard for the exams.
Eventually, when we were writing exams I don't go to shop so that I can concentrate on studying for the exams. It's not easy but we succeed at the end, all thanks to God Almighty.
My advise for students is that they should learn to work while studying, as this will help them to be independent after schooling.
