Splinterland's best achievements as a blockchain game aren't only due to the gameplay mechanics. One key aspect to the game's success is the 3rd party applications that members built. That's one of the perks of having an open blockchain game where data can be accessible and utilized for supporting apps.

Peakmonsters is one major supporting app that can be considered the "Amazon" of Splinterlands. Transactions for cards like buying, renting, and bidding are fun and sleek through the interface. The checkout cart to add into and remove from while you build your deck with DEC is underrated.

One feature I recently started using on Peakmonsters is bidding. You would place a bid at a price your comfortable at owning a card for. The bid order gets filled for the highest bidder over time. Sometimes people just want to sell cards immediately and any card that is listed below the highest bid gets instantly sold. The cards are basically sold below ask price so if you can wait and it's sound, you could possibly flip the card for a profit.

At one point on trying out the bidding feature, I placed a 30 card order to see if people would sell. Over time my order was filled by people who wanted to instant sell. I resold the cards for a small gain. It wasn't until a few hours later after reviewing transactions I noticed a level 5 (60BCX) card pass through as a level 1 (1BCX) card.

Both parties made a mistake, the original seller, and then the reseller. It wasn't a highly valued card (maybe 8$), but it was mistaken multiple times. I guess this is why we are all amateurs and not a Wall Street trading firm. Keep an eye out for mispriced cards, it can be surprising what gets missed on the market.
