  Un sol inclemente agobia en este caluroso día de verano, a pesar de ser domingo; Asdrúbal, el ingeniero residente en la obra de demolición en el viejo hospital, decide visitar el sitio para revisar los planos.

  A su llegada, el gigantesco espacio polvoriento le da la bienvenida, mientras camina por los inmensos salones abandonados puede sentir un extraño escalofrío que recorre todo su cuerpo, insertando en su corazón un temor que nunca antes había sentido, la intranquilidad en medio de la soledad de aquel lúgubre paraje, donde alguna vez estuvieron recluidos pacientes mentales, lo saca de equilibrio y lo conduce a salir de allí lo más pronto posible bastante asustado y con las manos temblorosas.

  Un hombre con vestimenta de barrendero, sucia y desaliñada le habla desde la distancia y le pregunta:

— ¿Puede darle un poco de agua?

  Asdrúbal, apenas puede verlo de forma borrosa, producto del vapor y el polvo en el aire típico del mediodía y le responde:

— Lo siento amigo, no tengo agua.

   Pero al arrancar, la curiosidad hace mirar al ingeniero por el retrovisor, solo para descubrir que no había nadie en cientos de metros a la redonda.

Mysterious Encounter

  An inclement sun is beating down on this hot summer day, even though it is Sunday; Asdrubal, the resident engineer at the demolition site of the old hospital, decides to visit the site to review the plans.

— “Sorry, friend, I have no water.”

  But when he starts up, curiosity makes the engineer look in the rearview mirror, only to discover that there was no one around for hundreds of meters.
