Creating a Dimensional Sign for Hive Intro
Greetings to you!
I want to share with you the story of how I came up with and created my welcome sign for Hive.
To begin with, the idea of having a sign was essential to me. I really like this: having a real, physical greeting in a digital community. It speaks to the idea of live communication, with a real person.
At first, I thought about just writing a greeting on paper. But then the idea of creating a dimensional sign began to blossom in my imagination.
Here's what I had on hand:
Granny's threads, taken from an old chest of drawers and passed on to me as a precious gift
Wood shavings from colored pencils.
Bundles of dried herbs: lavender and St. John's wort
All sorts of feathers I had collected
Buttons and various trinkets given to me by Mom
And a skein of twine
I lit a candle becouse the glue gun broke, so I had to heat the sticks over the open flame (you should always keep fire safety, if working with open flame!). And it looks so atmospheric!
Sometimes I don't even know why I collect certain odds and ends, or where I will eventually use them :)
And so I let my imagination run wild!
Perhaps in the future, when I become a whale, I'll sell this sign at auction for lots of Hive tokens.
I hope you enjoyed my creative process and its description, and that it will inspire you to create new things as well. Although, as I scroll through this group, I can definitely say that there is plenty of inspiration here! You can learn a lot from others.
I love to create things with my own hands. It adds even more life to every one of my days. And I'm glad that here on Hive, there are many like-minded people who are open and willing to share with each other!
Thank you for your attention!
For the benefit of all living beings!
