FSR 4 Exclusive to RDNA 4 GPUs
One of the most significant announcements from AMD is that FSR 4 will be exclusive to RDNA 4 GPUs. This next-gen upscaling technology introduces several critical changes, including the integration of AI-driven neural networks to improve both image quality and frame interpolation.
Unlike earlier FSR versions, which were built on a more open framework supporting multiple GPU brands, FSR 4 is designed to take full advantage of AMD’s dedicated AI cores. The transition to a neural network-based approach aligns FSR more closely with NVIDIA’s DLSS, which has relied on AI processing since its first generation.
