The Excitement of The Opening PON XXI ACEH SUMUT 2024 in Banda Aceh.
Hi everyone, the 21st National Sports Week (PON) in 2024 will be held in two provinces, namely Aceh and North Sumatra (Sumut). PON is the largest national sporting event in Indonesia that brings together athletes from all provinces to compete in various sports. PON XXI will be the first time that two provinces will host it together.
PON XXI will take place in 2024, with Aceh and North Sumatra as the main hosts. The opening is planned in Aceh, while the closing will be held in North Sumatra.
PON XXI will compete in more than 60 sports, including athletics, swimming, badminton, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and many others. Each sport will be held in various venues in the two provinces.
Aceh and North Sumatra have prepared various sports facilities, such as stadiums, arenas, and fields that meet national and international standards to support the smooth implementation of PON. Some of the main venues in Aceh are Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Aceh Government Multipurpose Building, and others. Meanwhile, North Sumatra is preparing Teladan Stadium, Pancing Multipurpose Building, and other venues.
PON XXI will be attended by thousands of athletes from 34 provinces in Indonesia. In addition, thousands of officials, coaches, and supporters will be present to support each team.
The PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024 Committee is committed to organizing an environmentally friendly and sustainable PON by utilizing technology, waste management, and greener transportation. Digital innovation is also applied in terms of ticketing, information, and communication systems.
PON XXI carries the theme of cultural diversity and the spirit of Indonesian unity. The mascot of PON XXI reflects the local wisdom and sporting spirit of the two provinces. PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024 is expected to not only be a sports competition event, but also to strengthen unity, increase sportsmanship, and introduce the rich culture and tourism of Aceh and North Sumatra to visitors from all over Indonesia.
