Warm greetings to the Hive Open Mic family and to all the amazing curators who continue to support and encourage creativity in this beautiful community. I sincerely appreciate the work you all do behind the scenes to keep this platform thriving.

For Week 307, I was inspired to present “Thou Oh Lord” by Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. This song is deeply rooted in Psalm 3, where David cried out to God in the midst of adversity. He was surrounded by enemies, misunderstood, and under pressure — yet he declared confidently that the Lord was his shield and the lifter of his head.

What inspired me most about this song is the strength that comes from trust. It is not a song born out of comfort, but out of battle. It reminds me that worship is not only for peaceful seasons; sometimes it is a weapon in difficult ones. The lyrics reflect assurance — a bold proclamation that God is both protector and restorer.

While preparing this rendition, I reflected on moments in my life where I needed God to lift my head — times when discouragement tried to settle in. Singing this piece became personal. It became a reminder that no matter the opposition, divine covering remains constant.

I chose to keep my arrangement simple so that the message would speak clearly. My desire is that anyone listening will be encouraged to trust God even in uncertain times.
