This video features Steely Dan’s “My Old School”

The original bass part for “My Old School” is written out for me and it’s very accurate. I play it as written sometimes and improvise at other times. Most people won’t know if I reinvent the part a little.

Bass: Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe 4 String… also known as “Bread and Butter.” when I was a full-time musician I used this bass and I modified it for longevity. Super light strings, heavy mass bridge, low action, and useful controls.
