Community Token Talk - Satoshi Pre-Mined Bitcoin?
Satoshi Pre-Mined Bitcoin?
Even if he/she did, is that important?
Pre-mines don't go great with decentralization and generally with the idea of cryptocurrency.
In POW chains pre-mine is bad, but it does not affect the governance of the chain. So if there is a big pre-mine the worst thing that could happen is the dump of those pre-mined coins on the market and price drop.
On POS (DPOS) pre-mine is the main red flag. If someone has 30% of a coin on a chain that uses stake for governance, that chain is not decentralized, there is a serious threat of hostile takeover, regulators will have an easy target for regulating the chain. And people that pre-mined can dump the coin.
There is a solution for blockchains with a strong community.
Forking.
Hive is the first and best example that forking is a solution.
