Snowdon, the Watkin Path
On a Monday in September 2021 I woke up in my tent to the scene below, low cloud and poor visibility. To be honest I was expecting this for the time of year, warm days and chilly nights = early morning mist, fog cloud etc.
Anyway this was the start of my hike up The Watkin Path to the top of Snowdon at 1085m above sea level.
As I climbed up the first stage of the walk I was treated to a small but still inspiring cloud inversion over the valley below.
I was really lucky with the weather conditions and as it was a Monday there was virtually no one on the hill with me meaning it wasn’t till getting near to the top that other people started appearing from other directions. These are some of the stunning views from the climb.
As mentioned already the weather could not have been more perfect for climbing up Snowdon. It took me just under 3hrs to reach the summit and a similar time to get back down via the South Ridge. The last two times I’ve been up Snowdon I’ve either not been able to see anything or it was Snowing with a minus 7 windchill and not ideal for sticking around so 3rd time lucky what a result.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog and stay posted for more adventures in 2022.
