Crochet cord

Hello, everyone! It's been a long time since I last posted in this community. Although I know how to knit, I always procrastinate on the projects I want to share with you. Today, I'm here with a tutorial for something very simple: a crochet cord.

¡Hola a todos! Tenía mucho tiempo sin publicar en esta comunidad. Aunque sé tejer, siempre procrastino los proyectos que quiero hacer para compartir con ustedes. El día de hoy vengo con un tutorial de algo muy sencillo, se trata de un cordón a crochet.

A few days ago, while shopping with my sister, I came across a very unusual item. It made me very curious because what they were selling, like a “knitted tail,” was nothing more than a cord, and I said to my sister, “I can make this myself.” So I rummaged through the pile of yarn I have and chose a very pretty yellow wool to bring you this little tutorial.

Hace unos días, mientras hacía compras con mi hermana, me conseguí con un artículo muy particular. Me causó mucha curiosidad porque lo que vendían, como una "colita tejida", no era más que un cordón, y le dije a mi hermana: esto lo puedo hacer yo. Así que rebusqué entre el montón de hilos que tengo y escogí una lana amarilla muy linda para traerles este pequeño tutorial.

We start with a chain of three. Then, in the next row, we begin to make half stitches.

Now comes the most tedious part: we must remove the needle completely and press down firmly with our fingers on the base of the fabric so that it does not come undone in the next step.

Yo utilicé una cinta métrica para tomar la medida completa. En mi caso, el cordón fue de 70 cm.

This cord can be used for whatever you need, but it is most commonly used in patterns for bags and purses. In my case, I will use it to decorate my hair. I feel like it will look very pretty.

Este cordón sirve para lo que lo necesites, siendo más utilizado en patrones de bolsas y carteras, pero en mi caso, lo utilizaré para adornar el cabello. Siento que se verá muy bonito.

Something to keep in mind when making future cords is that the thickness and length depend on what you need and the thickness of the yarn you are using. So, you need to see what you need and decide whether to increase the number of initial chain stitches. What you do need to consider is that there must be at least three for this tubular pattern to work.

Algo que deben de tomar en cuenta para hacer futuros cordones, es que el grosor y el largo, dependen de lo que necesiten y del grosor de la lana que estén utilizando. Así pues, deben de ver que esto que necesitan y ver si aumentan la cantidad de cadenetas iniciales. Lo que sí deben considerar, es que deben ser mínimo de tres para qué les quedé este patrón tubular.
