First evening in Tokyo
We landed this morning in Narita and took the train from there. Narita is very far from Central Tokyo, more than 1h by train, and the ticket costs 20€.
We took quarters in a hotel in Shinagawa, near Omori station. This seems to be a residential neighbourhood.
We rested a bit after a 15-hour flight and got out in the evening to explore the neighbourhood.

A ... phone booth? These still seem to be a thing here, I've seen more.
Judging by the fancy cars, it looks like we are in a well-off area
Yet at the same time, I get some Bucharest vibes, too. This could be a picture taken in Avrig Street, sector 2 of the Romanian capital
A crossing where Tokyo doesn't look too different from Bucharest.
Tokyo real estate market - I'd be curious to understand the ads and the figures, but I don't
We walked along a nice promenade lined by blossoming cherry trees.
We were a bit hungry and looked for a typical place to have dinner. I wanted sushi and was happy to find a sushi restaurant where Japanese people eat dinner.
Thanks to the cheap yen, dinner came up at only €36 for the three of us! Taste-wise, it was interesting without being a revelation. I love to try out new dishes, so I'll keep experimenting.
