Crowdfunding/micro-lending in India

The Indian sub-continent is not only vast geographically but has a huge diversity of people, cultures problems and solutions.

When I reviewed kiva a couple of months ago it became clear that many of the lending opportunities available there come from India.

Many of the kiva lending opportunities are carbon copies of opportunities found at https://milaap.org/

Whereas Kiva is focused mostly on micro loans milaap.org has many crowdfunding initiatives.

Its quite simple to start a fundraiser and you can even fundraise for initiative like helping animals

The two, in the screenshot of today, are for animals requiring surgery.

As can be seen they have been pretty well supported as represented by the maroon progress bar.

Some of these fundraisers are for individual cases or for organisations and group or ongoing initiatives.
