Tom Brady, the quarterback who led the Patriots on an historic comeback did not only receive the Most Valuable Player award, but also had a cockroach named after him.
Now this is not just any cockroach. This is the Madagascar hissing cockroach.
Why Would A Cockroach Be Named After Tom Brady?
Apparently there was some sort of silly bet between The Atlanta zoo and the Roger Williams Park Carousel Village in Rhode Island.
They had agreed that the losing side would name a baby animal after the winning team’s star quarterback.
Now if the bet was left open this way, it could have been nicer as there are loads of animals you could name after a winning quarterback but there was a decision to specifically choose a baby Madagascar hissing cockroach.
These things are found inside rotting logs and some people still keep them as pets!
