Royal Mint 1 oz Silver Una & The Lion Bar GEM BU

The Una and the Lion design is considered to be one of the best masterpieces of William Wyon, the Mint's Chief Engraver from 1828-1851. It is inspired by the 1590 epic poem "The Faerie Queene" by Edmund Spenser.

Reverse: The Princess Una is portrayed as a confident young woman on the reverse grasping the orb and scepter of the monarch, with her loyal lion companion standing protectively at her side. The pair stands with their eyes focused upon the future, as a breeze symbolically propels them towards it. The background pattern mimics the delicate spiral design on the obverse. The powerful design was created by Jody Clark, the Royal Mint sculptor responsible for the imagery of the popular Queen's Beasts series. Source

Obverse: The Mint's crown and shield crest appears to the left of the inscription "THE ROYAL MINT." The bar's weight and purity, "1 OZ 999.9 FINE SILVER". It features an all-over pattern of curls and spirals.

This is a Great Engravers Collection design of Una and the Lion from British Royal Mint. The bar is a top-grade quality strike, gorgeously finished surfaces and great eye appeal.

Mintage is limited to 35,000 pieces. Source
