Expecting DeFi Boost with New XRPL Lending Protocol, Ripple CTO
Recently, Chief Technology Officer of Ripple David Schwartz expressed his strong support for a novel lending protocol that would be launched on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Schwartz's contribution to the ledger's development makes this endorsement especially noteworthy. Developed by developer Vito Tumas and research head at RippleX Aanchal Malhotra, the proposal intends to add new features to the ledger, with a focus on improving its decentralized exchange (DEX). The DEX might become a pillar of easily accessible, effective, and transparent financial services if this protocol is adopted, according to Schwartz.
By depositing fungible tokens like XRP, wBTC, and wETH into a lending pool, users can take advantage of the mechanism of the proposed system and receive interest on their contributions. To ensure security and transparency, agreements between pool delegates and borrowers would be arranged off-chain and then recorded on the ledger. By making it easier to integrate lending apps into XRPL, this effort is also expected to help developers by increasing the platform's usefulness and encouraging a greater range of use cases.
