Yellow Cactus Flower

This amazing yellow flower caught the eye during a Car ride, and prompted a stop. These impressive bunches of golden flowers were amazing. They were like a beautiful bouquet, prearranged by nature, and ready to be removed in a handy bunch.

Inspection up close reveals the fine details of their beauty, but stepping back and admiring them from a short distance also reveals their true nature and increases their beauty and my amazement.

This lovely flower does arise from a cactus or cacti and this makes it all the more special. While cacti are most famous for their hardiness, and ability to survive in hot, dry climates. Those who live in communities bordering the dessert also know of the legendary beauty of cactus flowers. They are not just beautiful, but mesmerizing as they arise from tough and sometimes thorny cacti. Their beauty stands in contrast to the harsh environment they live in and they show even harsh ugly conditions can give birth to gentle beauty.
