Journal Collector...is that a thing?

I do like the idea of a journal. The feel of a journal. The look of a journal. For some reason I do not use journals. Don't get me wrong, I own plenty of journals. I buy them with good intentions. I've been gifted journals and they are truly lovely. Yet, they sit gathering dust.

Oh sure, I may start to write in a journal, but I feel like I must have something monumental to say. Something worthy of the leather-bound pages. Something that should it survive decades in the future long after I'm gone that would represent my life well to whomever happens to dust off the old journal and take a gander.

What should I write that is both for myself and for that unknown person in the future? I have no idea. And so these lovely journals sit gathering dust.
