Covid-19: Malaysia now in “extraordinary times”, says Health DG
Malaysia is now in “extraordinary times” which requires “extraordinary measures”, and people cannot afford to be complacent, pleads Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said that on Saturday (May 8), adding that Malaysians must help ensure that hospitals would not be forced into a situation of choosing which patient lives or dies when Intensive Care Unit (ICUs) beds run out by avoiding superspreader events such as weddings or funerals at least in this coming two weeks.
Dr Noor Hisham also said the current spike in cases was not considered a fourth wave, but a continuation of the third wave, even taking into account the emergence of new virus variants in the country.
