Trying to catch a pet
Last night my wife came running into our bedroom because she saw a tarantula in my daughter’s room. She absolutely HATES spiders, big juicy ones in particular.
I was glad because I have a request to fulfill for a pet tarantula. We have many in our neighborhood because of how close we live to water. It’s not that they like water, they like all the insects that live near water.
I caught the spider in a plastic cup and closed it with a coffee filter so it could breathe. I thought it was a little lethargic.
This morning, the tarantula was dead. I shook the cup a little to see it move its legs. Instead it just thunked around in a ball. I tore open the paper and saw that it was dead.
I caught this tarantula on the floor, which is unusual. They usually are up on the walls. Perhaps it was already in poor health when I caught it. Maybe it wasn’t wearing a mask and sanitizing it’s eight legs.
