Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

La commissione chiederà lui di dimostrare di essere un "vero nero" sottoponendo lui un numero altissimo di domande molto particolari e specifiche, atte a permettergli di consolidare la sua posizione.
Sarà un bagno di sangue per il povero Aaron che uscirà da quell'incontro con le ossa rotte e con la certezza di non poter mai entrare al college, a prescindere dal colore della sua pelle.
Non finirà qui.
La tragedia di Aaron sta per tingersi di rosso per poi diventare, ulteriormente, una farsa.

Aaron, dopo aver perso l'opportunità di entrare al college, perde anche la sua fidanzata che decide di piantarlo in asso dopo aver capito, irrimediabilmente, che Aaron al college non riuscirà ad andare. Meglio, dunque, togliersi il cerotto subito.
Aaron, devastato da questa ennesima beffa, si arma di lanciafiamme e decide di dare fuoco alla scuola. Lì, troverà un ragazzo afroamericano atto a compiere la medesima azione, per i medesimi motivi. Il ragazzo, infatti, è stato anch'egli rinnegato da Lee e soci, reo di non essere abbastanza Black nonostante il colore della pelle ed a causa della sua provenienza (è nigeriano e non nato sul suolo americano). Ennesima discriminazione (ed ennesimo affondo ad una società che non riuscirà mai a non essere discriminatoria ma al massimo determinerà discriminazioni differenti a seconda del periodo storico).
I 2 si contendono l'atto vandalico fino a diventare nemici. Aaron diverrà la preda, il ragazzo nigeriano il predatore. Arriverà la polizia che, senza sapere ne leggere ne scrivere, sceglierà il suo bersaglio. Chi tra i 2 lo sarà? Provate ad indovinare? Ovviamente il ragazzo nigeriano, che verrà puntualmente "steso" dai poliziotti bianchi (ennesimo ed ulteriore affondo ad un sistema pregiudizievole secondo cui il cattivo è sempre l'uomo nero).
Grazie a quel "sacrificio", però, il ragazzo nigeriano verrà considerato da Lee meritevole della borsa di studio ("farsi sparare dalla polizia è l'atto più black che esista" dirà il filantropo). Aaron si troverà ancor più solo e ammanettato.
Un anno dopo vedremo Aaron in una veste nuova, con un taglio di capelli più "afro", intento a corteggiare una ragazza "black" e con atteggiamenti molto alla "Willy il principe di Bel Air".

But Lee's soft revenge does not end there and extends to all the titled to his gift.
It will not be enough, in fact, to have black skin. It will be essential to prove that you are "Black."
To do so, each scholarship candidate will have to undergo an audition with a triumvirate consisting of Lee and 2 other "Black Men."
Aaron, wanting to get into college and desperate for not having sufficient financial ability, decides to attend the audition, under the incredulous eye of all the other applicants, and the committee, who see him showing up at the auditions in a "White" who would like, out of sheer convenience, to prove himself "Black."
The committee will ask him to prove that he is a "real Black" by subjecting him to a very large number of very particular and specific questions designed to enable him to solidify his position.
It will be a bloodbath for poor Aaron who will come out of that meeting with broken bones and with the certainty that he will never be able to get into college, regardless of the color of his skin.
It will not end there.
Aaron's tragedy is about to be tinged with red and then become, further, a farce.

Aaron, after losing the opportunity to get into college, also loses his girlfriend who decides to ditch him after realizing, irretrievably, that Aaron will not be able to go to college. Better, therefore, to take the band-aid off now.
Aaron, devastated by this umpteenth hoax, arms himself with a flamethrower and decides to set the school on fire. There, he will find an African-American boy fit to perform the same action, for the same reasons. The boy, in fact, has also been disowned by Lee and associates, guilty of not being Black enough despite the color of his skin and because of his origin (he is Nigerian and not born on American soil). Yet another discrimination (and yet another lunge at a society that will never fail to be non-discriminatory but at best will result in different discriminations depending on the historical period).
The 2 contend with the vandalism until they become enemies. Aaron will become the prey, the Nigerian boy the predator. The police will arrive who, without knowing how to read or write, will choose their target. Who among the 2 will be? Take a guess? Obviously the Nigerian boy, who will be punctually "knocked out" by the white cops (yet another and further lunge at a prejudicial system according to which the bad guy is always the black man).
Thanks to that "sacrifice," however, the Nigerian boy will be deemed worthy of the scholarship by Lee ("getting shot by the police is the blackest act there is," the philanthropist will say). Aaron will find himself even more alone and handcuffed.
A year later we will see Aaron in a new guise, with a more "afro" haircut, intent on courting a "black" girl and with very "Willy the Prince of Bel Air" attitudes.
The transformation happened, and like any self-respecting "Black" man, Aaron ended up a victim of the system. No chance for him. No scholarship. No fine. Just prison, an inability to put himself through college, a victim of prejudice and circumstance. Aaron's life like that of millions of African Americans.
Minimum wage work and a future now foreclosed.
Only variation: Aaron is white.
Masterpiece.
