A society based on the "free time" is it possible?

That our society has evolved in an unforeseeable and often dramatic way is beyond doubt. Progress has increased our life expectancy, but it has also widened the gap between the social classes within the same country, and between the populations of the most industrialized and underdeveloped nations. At the macroeconomic level, the situation of recent decades has thus become unsustainable. We have become a species that has recognized Money as the one and true God and Work as the only true instrument of power and legitimacy. Capitalism has evolved, or perhaps is better to say inevolved, in the most beautiful consumerism. The masses soon began to be much less cultured, less and less thoughtful and more and more like flocks of lost and aimless sheep. In a world where social injustice is evident, where the famously richest 1% hold 99% of global wealth, and where the richest 1% contributes 50% of global pollution, it would be appropriate to stop and admit that our society has failed. She's imploded on herself. It must be rewritten from top to bottom. We must review the cornerstones on which this society of ours stands.
There are many reasons for this failure but analysis after analysis the lowest common denominator always seems to be the usual: the labour market.
. Today we are witnessing a curious and worrying phenomenon. In the last 20-30 years the cost of living has skyrocketed but salaries have not. In some countries, such as the one I am writing from, such as Italy, salaries have even remained unchanged compared to 20 years ago. The logical and dramatic consequence is that the individual today has an increasingly illusory purchasing power. In addition, there is an even more worrying and disarming trend. In addition to having limited purchasing power, today we also have much less free time as we spend much of our week at work, in the office, out and about to work.
Recap: We earn little, we work long hours, we have little purchasing power.
The capitalist/consumerist/coorporate method has made us believe for years that the answer to this problem was to work harder. Work harder to climb positions in hierarchies, earn more and live happily. It is a pity that for every boy or girl forced to work more, jobs were taken from others. Why hire 2 people when I can "enslave" a single person and give them twice as much work on the same pay? Companies, multinationals have been using this method for years. And we believed it.
Now the time seems to have come. The time to change pace, change our mindset and force the world's powerful to give us a new world. In this new world order, work should not be at the centre of a human being's life but his leisure time. No more money, but quality of life. No longer career but realization of oneself as human beings.
It's a difficult path. Try today to tell a colleague or your friends "workers" that the only way to lift the world is to work much less, not lowering wages. You will be treated like fools. You will feel like a vegan in a butcher shop. Out of place, out of place, out of this world. And then you will understand that the madmen are them, not you. The world has gone mad and it's time to change it.
In recent weeks, fortunately, a tangible example of this theory has been brought to the attention of the world.
Microsoft, one of the world's economic giants, has carried out an experiment in Japan. For 5 weeks he reduced the number of working days from 5 to 4, he did so without reducing salaries.
The result?
The Company produced 40% compared to the same period last year and saved over 20% in terms of consumption. Employees also appeared happier, more serene, relaxed and focused. The number of sick leave has decreased and all have appeared to have improved as workers and as human beings .
These figures disprove all those who think, arrogantly and blindly, that only by working more can more results be achieved. Wrong. Very wrong. We are a society that thrives on waste. Waste resources, waste food, waste of time. In short, we are wasting our lives.
The only way out?

Ricapitolando: Guadagniamo poco, lavoriamo molte ore, abbiamo poco potere d'acquisto.
Sarete trattati come pazzi.
Errato. Sbagliatissimo. Siamo una società che vive di sprechi. Sprechi risorse, sprechi di cibo, sprechi di tempo. Stiamo insomma sprecando la nostra vita.
L'unica via di uscita?
