Random Photo Dump and Storytelling

I was hoping to write something specific today but since I really need to clear out my phone, maybe it could be a chance to do a photo dump and share some random things from my life and my mind. Let’s see what I come across.

Chengdu is a fun city. I spent a few weeks there while traveling two or three times and had a crazy time. This restaurant was baffling to me. The translation is accurate. My friend took me here and just kind of giggled at the name. I didn’t find it particularly funny or unfunny, I was just kind of confused. The food was ok but just….why? Gimmick? I would imagine it would turn off people more than anything but it’s already a chain so what do I know!

Food in Japan is fantastic. I miss when I first came here and these kinds of meals cost 700 yen. Now they cost between 1200-1500.

Been playing guitar a lot more and this pedal was something I had been eyeing a lot more. Electric guitar is still a new world for me. Reverb is one of my favorite pedals, I like the dreamy feeling, it’s one of my favorite qualities of music.

One of my favorite things to do is hunt for quirky shops or communities or people in the city. Tokyo has plenty still, and here is one I found which was very difficult to enter. Nothing was in English which was ok for me but we couldn’t find the staff and had to come back later. We tried to talk to her but I got the feeling she didn’t like me very much.

Interesting place though, toys everywhere! Japanese monsters!

Persian restaurant nearby has this pet bird who I made friends with. She likes to sit on my shoulder but at first I felt nervous that I might hurt her. I kept my hands in my pockets so I wouldn’t instinctively grab her too quickly if she ended up biting me.

Eventually I realized that she doesn’t really bite unless it’s playful. My first bird friend.

One of my favorite cuisines, Wthiopian! injera bread is a bit sour and stretchier and softer than Indian nan. The variety and spices are awesome, I hope you can all try this someday.

More of that crazy monster cafe

Me playing around with all the cover art for my different work and other projects I’ve worked on:

One of our favorite Japanese bands, the flier of the show we opened our market at.

A very happy chair

Cherry blossom season is over and rainy season has begun. We were able to see them in a couple nice spots this year.

Trying to do some spring cleaning on my phone. I may do this a few more times before I delete those photos (don’t worry, there are backups)
