Sketching practice: Land in sight!
Hello friends,
In my previous post I mentioned that while traveling with train I was sketching so that the time goes quickly. It was a long trip so after my first sketch I still have some time but I just wanted to do something relaxing and what could be more relaxing than sea and dream about going for sailing.
I thought about the old time when it was not possible to travel like we do now but with sea. Do you remember the time of great discoveries when it was popular to be sailors and also pirates who had spent weeks and months on sea leaving their loved ones and their family and dreaming about something new like new land, cultures, spices and of course gold and treasures.
In the past like in our days people wanted to have financial stability and make sure that their families have everything. That is why they voluntary went to those long trips. Every day they were looking at horizon and waiting for the moment when someone will call: Land in sight!
Therefore, I decided to make a symbol of dreaming for better, full sails and hopefully land in sight, the sailors on my ship might have also noticed seagulls and that only means that the land is very close.
Here is my quick pen sketch and till next time.
