Something Quick? Yes, Pinsa!

Hello, Chefs! 😋

Today, we are in a hurry, so we adapt our food accordingly. We're making something that's like a quick pizza.

I first came across Pinsa in Rome a few years ago, and I've had the opportunity to try it a few more times since then. The dough is similar to pizza, but it's mixed with different flours and is more airy and crisp.

When you have time for a snack, you go out and try to find a Pinseria (a place where pinsa is offered), choose your filling, wait a few minutes, and enjoy a hot pinsa piece.

It has now started to appear in some pizzerias here and in local shops. The dough is pre-baked and perfect for quick preparation in the oven.

The price in local shops was very reasonable at €1.35 for a while, but now they are running out, and it's gone up to €2.30, haha.

People have realized that it is very suitable for home-cooked fast food. In 6 to 7 minutes, you have a hot and delicious meal on the table or at hand.

Since the dough is already half-baked, you can choose any filling you like and bake it in the oven for a few minutes.

I added a very classic filling:

• slightly spicy tomato sauce,
• slices of ham, and
• grated mozzarella.

I made one as a Margherita, just sauce and grated cheese.

After just five minutes, it's delicious.

As we were in a hurry, there was no special serving. We just cut it up and soon it was gone :)

I have a few more in stock, but the filling will be different when they come out!
