Scorum in Paris: What We Learned at Vivatech 2018

The team from Scorum won an invitation to Vivatech 2018 in Paris from the PMU startup challenge. Along with 20 other participants, our stand was hosted in the PMU section at one of Europe’s largest technology conference.

With an opening speech from French President Emmanuel Macron and headliners from giants in the industry, it was quite a spectacle to behold. Robots were roaming freely around the entrance along with the debut of a flying car.

Spreading the word of rewarding sports social media

We were welcome to our own small corner and were soon crowded after President Macron finished his opening speech where the main message was aptly ‘tech for good.’ Despite being quite a huge event, the amount of blockchain-based projects was quite low so we had the chance to introduce the benefits of distributed ledger technology to a wide range of people.

Our Pitch

MU is a longstanding and well-established French horse-racing bookmaker. As a new project bringing the transparent, secure, and high throughput Scorum blockchain to the sports betting world, it was a great opportunity for us to network with established players in the sports wagering world.

Scorum Co-founder Mikalai Pobal got a nice warm-up straight away as one of the guided groups stopped by the booth for a quick 8 minute pitch.

While the award went to another team, we count as a win the chance to bring more awareness of blockchain solutions to the sports betting and social media industries. So many people that stopped by our booth were fascinated with the sharing economic model, suite of services, and clean design of the Scorum Platform.

Now that we’re back to Minsk, we’ll be following up on many of the great conversations we had in Paris and we’re sure they will lead to successful collaborations in the future that will help to build Scorum into the number one source for all things sport.
