Pocas veces me gusta hablar de deportes, pero el resultado del partido de ayer entre México y Ecuador me hizo pensarlo. Que no soy de las personas que estén viendo todos y cada uno, tan solo los del mundial donde juega México.

Ayer el centro de la ciudad estaba a reventar, los coches en las calles prácticamente no se movían y la gente seguía llegando, como siempre yo aproveché para ir en sentido contrario porque no me gustan las aglomeraciones. Al llegar a casa no me lo podía creer. Estaban vacías las calles, todo en calma, Como si todo mundo estuviera en el centro preparándose para festejar.

Cuando llegué a casa el medio tiempo estaba a punto de finalizar, había anotado dos tantos y se esperaba que la segunda parte estuviera aún más reñida. Después de ver la intensa defensa del equipo mexicano pensé que el marcador final iba a quedar como 4 a 0 o algo así, pero el resultado del primer tiempo mantuvo durante el resto del partido.

Como les había comentado, no soy muy fanático del fútbol, pero esta vez sí que me divertí acompañado de mi esposa, viendo el partido del fútbol, en un confortable reclinable, con un par de cervezas y una deliciosa cena, todo en la santidad de mi hogar. Ahora esperar el partido del domingo.

I rarely like to talk about sports, but yesterday's match between Mexico and Ecuador made me think about it. I'm not one of those people who watches every single game, except for the World Cup matches where Mexico is playing.

Yesterday, the city center was packed. The cars on the streets were practically at a standstill, and people kept arriving. As always, I took advantage of the chaos and went the wrong way because I don't like crowds. When I got home, I couldn't believe it. The streets were empty, everything was calm, as if everyone was downtown getting ready to celebrate.

When I got home, halftime was about to end. They had scored two goals, and the second half was expected to be even closer. After seeing the intense defense of the Mexican team, I thought the final score would be 4-0 or something like that, but the first-half score held for the rest of the match.

As I mentioned, I'm not a huge football fan, but this time I really enjoyed watching the game with my wife, relaxing in a comfortable recliner, with a couple of beers and a delicious dinner, all in the sanctity of our home. Now we wait for Sunday's game.
